“I would dare to say that this is one of the best steakhouses in Stamford,” states Tom Cooper, travel blogger at Holiday Parrots. “With its unbeatable view next to the sea, Prime Stamford provides a spacious and elegant atmosphere that is perfect for any occasion. Their menu features steak and seafood entrees, cocktails, and an extensive wine list. I tried their lobster bisque, and it was the most delicious I’ve had. The cocktails are also great, and I would highly recommend the gnocchi.”

3) Visit the Stamford Museum & Nature Center

“One of my favorite things to do in Stamford is spending a few hours at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. It is one of the most beloved attractions in Connecticut with something for everyone,” shares Malerie Yolen-Cohen of travel blog Getaway Mavens.

As visitors enter the Stamford Museum & Nature Center, they are immediately struck by the grandeur of the building, with its intricate lead-glass windows, elegant archways, and majestic Great Hall. This former private residence once belonged to none other than fashion designer and department store owner Henri Willis Bendel, a Louisiana native who rose to fame in the fashion worlds of New York and Paris in the 1920s and ’30s, and amassed a great fortune in the process. The mansion was his dream home, and today it serves as an iconic piece of Stamford’s cultural heritage.

Also on the property is The Heckscher Farm, a 10 acre rural oasis, where visitors can relax and enjoy a slower pace of life.“The farm has a variety of barnyard animals from bygone days, including a dozen breeds of chickens, pigs, sheep, and bovines,” says Yolen-Cohen. “Nature trails feature sculptures and wildlife. Fantastic programs are offered throughout the year, including “Nights Out” for great date night ideas (painting, tacos and tequila, private gallery tours to name a few). I’ve loved this wholesome place for decades, and consider it one of Stamford’s great treasures.”

4) Eat like a local at Pellici’s

“One of my favorite things to do in Stamford, CT is to eat at family-owned Italian restaurant, Pellicci’s, operating since 1947,” shares Kim Orlando of travel site SheBuysTravel.

Pellicci’s is known for its authentic Italian cuisine, which is made using the freshest ingredients and traditional recipes. The menu features a wide variety of dishes, including pasta, seafood, and meat dishes, as well as a selection of pizza. The restaurant’s history and heritage are a big part of the appeal, and the long-standing family tradition is evident in the quality of the food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

5) Learn about Long Island Sound

Another activity Orlando recommends is packing a picnic for a sail on a 19th-century styled schooner at Soundwaters, a teaching vessel that offers education about Long Island Sound.

The sound offers a wide range of activities, from swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking to beach lounging and sunbathing, that will provide a great opportunity to relax, unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. It’s also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including various species of fish, birds, and other marine animals, making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
